U.S. International faced its second nationally ranked team on the road this season Saturday and for the second time came away with a humiliating loss.

This time the Gulls were routed, 166-101, by No. 10 Arkansas before 8,968.

Oklahoma, then ranked No. 17, had similar success against the defenseless Gulls, winning, 173-101, two weeks ago.

“Arkansas is the same species as Oklahoma,” USIU Coach Gary Zarecky said. “The environments are similar, and the talent is awesome on both teams.”

Arkansas set three school records, for points in a game, field goals made (68) and shots taken (101). The Razorbacks (5-0) shot 67.3% from the field in a game they led, 31-10, after 7:17.

Sophomore Lee Mayberry scored a career-high 31 points as eight Arkansas players scored in double figures.

Kevin Bradshaw, who had a school-record 54 points in a 152-137 loss to Loyola Marymount Thursday, led USIU (2-6) with 32.

Arkansas’ 166 points is the third-highest total in a NCAA Division I game. USIU has been the culprit in each of the three highest-scoring games, losing to Loyola Marymount, 181-150, last year and to Oklahoma this season.
