The University of Maryland has admitted to all 18 rules violations the NCAA alleged were committed by the men’s basketball team during former coach Bob Wade’s three-year tenure, the Washington Post reported, quoting unidentified sources.

A decision by the NCAA infractions committee concerning sanctions against Maryland is not expected until February.

Among other allegations were that Wade and three staff members were not forthcoming with either in-house or NCAA investigators about inducements that were given to recruits and extra benefits to players in violation of the rules, and the providing of at least 15 automobile rides to former Terrapin guard Rudy Archer.

Archer, the starting point guard on the 1987-88 Maryland team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament, had flunked out of school and was attending Prince George’s Community College and University College on the College Park campus when he received the rides. The NCAA considered him a recruitable athlete because he had a year’s eligibility remaining.
