Shanahan Decides Against Kentucky Job

Mike Shanahan, who wants to remain in the NFL, turned down the coaching job at the University of Kentucky, Athletic Director C.M. Newton said Sunday.
Newton said Shanahan, an assistant with the Denver Broncos, informed him of the decision late Saturday after Denver’s 37-0 victory over Phoenix.
“It was a tough decision,” said Shanahan, who was fired as Raiders coach early this season. “Kentucky’s a great university, but I’m really happy to be here with the Denver Broncos.”
