ROUNDUP : Hinchmen’s Hoop in Final Minute Leads Dana Hills

Jason Hinchmen’s basket with 25 seconds left in the game gave Dana Hills High School a 49-47 victory over Bakersfield Thursday in a championship quarterfinal of the Canyon basketball tournament.
Bakersfield stole the ball with 10 seconds left but Mark Minnieweather, who finished with 12 points, missed an eight-foot shot with five seconds left.
Keith Barnett had nine points and Hinchmen eight to lead Dana Hills. Chad Davis led all scorers with 15 points for Bakersfield.
In another game at Canyon:
Anaheim 81, Burroughs 46--Danny Castro (22 points) and Richard Fernandez (15 rebounds) led Anaheim (6-5).
In the King Cotton basketball tournament in Pine Bluff, Ark.:
Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.) 62, Capistrano Valley 57--Despite Scott McCorkle’s 25 points and eight rebounds, Archbishop Carroll advanced to the fifth-place final. Chris Kostoff added 16 points for Capistrano Valley (9-4). Charles Harrison led Archbishop Carroll (6-3) with 26 points.
In the Eldorado tournament in Las Vegas:
Woodbridge 65, La Quinta 43--Mike Manthei had 18 points, 15 of them in the first half, and had five rebounds to lead Woodbridge (7-5) in the fifth-place semifinal.
In the Katella tournament:
Western 61, Bell 48--Sam Sabbara scored 16 points and Robbie Shelton had 15 for Western, which will play Long Beach Millikan at 8 tonight in the championship final.
Millikan 53, Servite 44--Pat Thacker scored 12 points for Millikan. Servite was led by Steve Marusich’s 18 points.
Rancho Alamitos 107, Villa Park 72--David Green had 26 points and 10 rebounds for Rancho Alamitos in a consolation semifinal. Rancho Alamitos (5-3) will play Katella tonight.
Katella 79, Agoura 59-- Brian Franklin led Katella with 21 points and Eric Baca added 20.
