From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

A fire in the offices of a Granada Hills school caused an estimated $150,000 in damages this morning but did not delay classes, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 4:20 a.m. at Porter Junior High School and quickly extinguished by about 20 firefighters, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Pat Marek. There were no injuries and the cause of the blaze was still under investigation, Marek said.

A water main at the school burst after the fire was out and flooded several offices, said Rich Mendoza, school plant manager.

Mendoza said that although water and fire damage to the office complex at the school was extensive, no classrooms were damaged; classes proceeded this morning as scheduled.
