4.2 Quake Rattles Tehachapis North of Mojave
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit the Tehachapi Mountains, 12 miles north of Mojave in Kern County, on Wednesday, but authorities said they had received no reports of damage or injuries.
Although the quake was centered near the California Aqueduct, workers on the waterway said they did not feel the temblor.
Seismologists at Caltech in Pasadena said several small earthquakes had occurred in the area over the last several weeks.
