Man Held in Series of Rapes Is Released
Sheriff’s officials on Thursday released a 21-year-old unemployed Norwalk man who had been arrested as part of the investigation into a series of rapes and break-ins in a Norwalk neighborhood.
David B. Ross was arrested by deputies Tuesday morning in the four-block area where three rapes, an attempted rape and several break-ins have occurred since last July.
Ross, who was wandering around the neighborhood when he was spotted by deputies, who thought he resembled the suspect described by witnesses, Lt. Ronald T. Wagner said. However, none of the victims or witnesses could identify Ross, and there was no other evidence that he had committed any crime, Wagner said.
