Woman Killed, 2 Shot in Robbery at Lennox Motel
An Inglewood woman was killed and two others were injured Monday night when a gunman opened fired with a shotgun during a robbery in a Lennox motel room, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies said three men broke into room No. 9 in the Zephyr Motel, 11143 S. Prairie Ave., at about 9:45 p.m. and demanded money from the man and woman inside.
After money was handed over, the woman was shot in the face. Investigators said the woman, whose name was not released, had numerous arrests for prostitution. Pellets from the shotgun blast struck her companion, penetrated the wall and slightly injured a woman in a neighboring room.
“The suspects were apparently not satisfied with the money they received,” Deputy Roger Hom said.
Juan Gallegos of Inglewood was struck in the neck and chest. He was in good condition Wednesday at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital.
