From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

In the city’s largest cocaine bust ever, Orange police announced today the seizure of more than 70 kilograms of the drug, with a street value of more than $7 million.

Police also seized four handguns and $500,000 as a result of a monthlong narcotics investigation.

Officers arrested two suspects in connection with the investigation, which originated in Orange and led them to houses in Glendale and Century City and a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles, Orange Police Sgt. Art Romo said today.

“It’s the biggest coke seizure we’ve ever had,” he said.

Romo declined to release the names of the suspects, whom he identified as Colombian males, saying the information might hamper the ongoing investigation.

Burbank and Glendale police helped serve search warrants at three locations Thursday night, Romo said. A drug-sniffing dog was also used, he said.
