THE SIDELINES : Vikings’ Millard Again Arrested
Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Keith Millard, the NFL’s defensive player of the year, was arrested early today and charged with drunk driving and speeding, police said.
Millard, 27, was booked at police headquarters in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington and released after his arrest at 12:51 a.m., said Sgt. Frank Heino. It was the second time in the past year Millard has been arrested for drunk driving.
On March 22, Millard was arrested by police in Redmond, Wash., on four misdemeanor counts, including drunk driving and threatening police officers. In July he was placed on probation, ordered to complete two years of counseling and do community service work.
Heino said Millard was stopped by police near a residential neighborhood marked as a 40-m.p.h. speed zone. He said the arrest report did not say how fast Millard was driving. He also said he could not disclose whether Millard took a breath test.
