Sales for the weekly Sports Action betting game declined to $54,908 last week, continuing a slide that began when the National Football League regular season ended.

After the NFL season ended, the Oregon Lottery game switched to professional basketball. With no football playoff games last weekend, it marked the first time the game had relied solely on basketball.

Jim Davey, state lottery director, told the Lottery Commission the decline in interest won’t affect the decision to include professional basketball in the Sports Action contest.

Davey said this week’s game will include 13 basketball games and three events for Sunday’s Super Bowl. The three include the outcome of the game based on the point spread, and the total points scored in each half.
