U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange withdrew from the Phoenix Open, which begins today on the TPC course at Scottsdale, Ariz., after becoming ill on a flight home from Australia.
Strange changed his plans and instead of stopping in Phoenix, switched planes and went home to Williamsburg, Va.
