Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that swept through the Big Oaks Lodge, causing $150,000 in damage to the century-old restaurant northeast of Saugus, authorities said Sunday.
The fire began about 4 a.m. Saturday and burned the restaurant, bar and kitchen of the two-story lodge at 33100 Bouquet Canyon Road in an isolated, woodsy area monitored by the U.S. Forest Service, Los Angeles County Fire Department officials said.
No one was in the dining areas, and the lodge’s cabins and a training facility for boxers escaped the flames, Capt. Terry Holden said.
