Blue Eyes Bows Out of Opener: Singer Frank Sinatra canceled Thursday night’s opening performance of a scheduled four-night engagement at Bally’s Reno, according to a spokesman for the hotel-casino. Bally’s publicist Brian Lawson said that Sinatra has a cold and laryngitis and had been advised by his doctor not to perform. Lawson said that he did not know whether the rest of the scheduled engagement, which is to run through Sunday, would be affected.
