LOCAL : Glendale Ceiling Plant Burns

An electrical short started a fire that caused $200,000 damage to a Glendale business, fire officials said this morning.

About 100 firefighters from Glendale, Burbank and Los Angeles fought the fire at Cal Best Ceiling in the 1900 block of Gardena Avenue. The fire was reported at 11:37 p.m. Thursday, said Mike Hand of the Verdugo dispatch center.

Flames burned through the roof before the blaze was extinguished early this morning. The fire caused $100,000 to the building and $100,000 damage to its contents, Hand said.
