Clippers Sign Les to 10-Day Contract
The Clippers, filling the roster spot left vacant by the injury to Gary Grant, signed guard Jim Les to a 10-day contract Tuesday.
Les, a 1986 graduate of Bradley, has played in the World Basketball League, the Continental Basketball Assn. and the NBA. He appeared in all 82 games for the Utah Jazz last season and played in the opener this season before being waived. Since then, he toured with the Marathon Oil AAU team before joining the CBA’s Santa Barbara Islanders, for whom he averaged 14.6 points and 9.8 assists a game.
He is expected to be in uniform when the Clippers play the Washington Bullets Thursday night.
