Cavaliers Have Nothing to Show for Harper After Cutting Williams

Share

When the Cleveland Cavaliers released Reggie Williams Friday night, it meant that nobody involved in the early season trade with the Clippers is playing in the NBA.

The Clippers gave Williams, who was a first-round pick in 1987, and the rights to Danny Ferry to the Cavaliers for Ron Harper and three high draft choices.

Ferry is playing in Italy, and Harper is out for the season after having knee surgery.

Williams was three for three in his final game Friday night, but shot only 38% in 32 games for the Cavaliers. He was released to make room for center Paul Mokeski, just off the injured list.
