Mid-City 67, Downtown Business 65--Dean Roches, a 5-foot-6 sophomore guard, scored 21 points, and Orenthal Woodson, a 6-5 sophomore, added 20 to lead Mid-City to the Magnet Conference title at Rancho Cienega Recreation Center.

Sophomore Michael Norwood made two free throws in the final two seconds to break a 65-65 tie and give Mid-City its first victory in three attempts this season against Downtown Business. Los Angeles CES defeated Westside, 69-47, in the third-place game.

Santa Clara 70, Tehachapi 58--Shon Tarver, a 6-5 senior guard, scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Saints (23-0) to the 2-AA semifinal.
