Palomar Wins Softball Title, 9-1

Celeste Sanchez pitched a four-hitter to lead Palomar College to a 9-1 victory over San Diego Mesa in the championship game of the Golden West softball tournament Sunday at Golden West.

Sanchez improves to 5-0 and Palomar, the defending state champion, is 25-3.

Earlier Sunday, Palomar had defeated Golden West, 4-0, in a semifinal game. San Diego Mesa defeated Saddleback, 2-1, in the other semifinal.
