In other Metro Conference games:
Montgomery 2, Sweetwater 0--Luis Arroyo (3-2) went the distance to pick up the win for host Montgomery (9-3, 3-0). Shortstop Jose Lorenzana, second baseman Saul Rodriguez and right fielder Luis Contreras all went two for three for Montgomery. Sweetwater is 8-4, 1-2.
Southwest 8, Chula Vista 7--Tony de la Torre doubled in the top of the ninth to drive in the winning run for Southwest (2-1, 4-7). Ricky Ramirez was three for five for Chula Vista (3-8, 0-3).
Bonita Vista 2, Mar Vista 1--Jorge Millan, a Bonita Vista sophomore, drove in John Soloman, who had tripled, to tie the game, 1-1, in the fourth inning. Millan then scored the winning run in the top of the seventh when Brian Clark was walked with bases loaded. Mar Vista (3-11, 0-3) scored in the third inning on a two-base throwing error. Bonita Vista is now 7-6, 1-2.
City Central League
Madison 13, Lincoln 0--Lamont Allen hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to give Madison (7-5, 3-1) a 11-0 lead. Allen went three for four with seven RBIs. Then, in the bottom of the sixth, Robi Hoffman hit a two-run homer clinching Madison’s victory. Lincoln is now 5-6, 1-3.
City Eastern League
Mira Mesa 4, Morse 2--Marc Nielsen’s three run home run in the third inning proved enought of a cushion for Mira Mesa (13-0, 4-0). Morse scored both its runs in the sixth. Mike Bovee (6-0) gave up one hit in four innings and got the victory.
City Western League
La Jolla 9, University City 6--La Jolla pitcher Eric Vann (2-1) went into to the mound in the third inning with bases loaded and no outs and only gave up one run, three hits and struck-out five in his five innings. Gary Frank hit a two-run homer in the second inning giving La Jolla a 5-3 lead. Justin Chaitin hit two bases-loaded singles for four RBIs for La Jolla (7-4, 2-2). University City is now 4-8, 1-3.
Mission Bay 17, USDHS 2--Mike Lowry went four for five to lead Mission Bay, which scored 12 runs in the third. Doug Knight had four RBIs for Mission Bay (4-7, 3-1). USDHS is 9-3, 3-1.
City Harbor League
St. Augustine 8, Clairemont 7--Centerfielder Larry Murasky went two for five and scored two runs to lead visiting St. Augustine (4-8, 3-1). Roger Alvarez (2-2) picked up the win. Antoine Henry was two for three with two RBIs and a stolen base for Clairemont (5-7, 2-2).
Nonleague
Patrick Henry 12, Kearny 2--Dino Distefano hit a three-run homer in the top of the first inning to give Patrick Henry 5-0 lead. Distefano went two for four with five RBIs and a run scored. Eric Feffer went two for four. Patrick Henry improved to 6-7 and Kearny is now 6-7.
Crawford 13, Marian Catholic 5--Joe McWilliams hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first giving Crawford a 4-2 lead. McWilliams went four for four with six RBIs. Beto Martinez had hit a two-run homer, his fourth, in the first inning for Marian Catholic (4-6). Crawford improved to 4-1.
