Top Matchups Set for Arcadia Meet

The Arcadia Invitational track meet, with a field that includes high school athletes from 15 states and virtually every top prep track performer in California, is today at Arcadia High School. The open events begin at 11 a.m., and the invitational portion of the meet starts at 4 p.m. with the discus.

The boys’ events feature several outstanding matchups, especially in the middle-distance and distance races, with Coley Candaele of Carpinteria, Danny Jordan of Venice and Bryan Dameworth of Agoura going against some of the best runners in the nation.

The girls’ events will be highlighted by the 100 and 200 meters, which will feature three of the top sprinters in the U.S..
