LOCAL : Lake L.A. Man Killed in Crash
A 39-year-old Lake Los Angeles man was killed this morning when his pickup truck was hit head-on by another pickup truck near Palmdale, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Jesse Mario Lee, 39, died at 5:30 a.m. in the accident on 170th Street East just north of Avenue T, CHP Officer Miguel Siordia said.
Lee was driving southbound on 170th when a northbound pickup driven by John P. Hughes, 26, of San Bernardino drifted into his lane and the two collided, Siordia said. Hughes suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Palmdale.
Siordia said that the accident is still under investigation and that it is unknown why Hughes’ truck went into the oncoming lane.
