Windows Shot Out of 4 Vehicles on I-8
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department was searching Saturday night for a suspect who used a rifle to shoot out the back windows of four vehicles as they headed East on Interstate 8 near the Tavern Road exit in Alpine. No injuries were reported in the shootings that took place about 9:30 p.m., a sheriff’s department spokesman said.
Deputies and California Highway Patrol officers on the ground were being assisted by a helicopter in the search for the suspect. Deputies believed that the shots were fired from a vacant lot near a towing company building, the spokesman said.
