Gebre Tedese led a 1-2-3-4 Ethiopian finish in the Rome Marathon on a course that turned out to be shorter than the regulation 26 miles, 385 yards.
Tedese was timed in 2:10:28. However, after the race, officials determined that the course was about 25 yards short.
The women’s winner was Silvana Cucchietti of Italy, in 2:34:21.
