Twentieth-ranked US International improved to 16-9 with a 5-1 victory over Hawaii. Playing at No. 1 singles, USIU’s Carol Curmi defeated Hawaii’s Justine Tate, 6-2, 6-2. USIU’s Diane Lowings defeated Karen Felicihda of Hawaii (20-14), 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.

MEN’S TENNIS

UC-Irvine, ranked 19th, led San Diego State, 4-1, when the match was suspended because of rain. Eighteenth-ranked Trevor Kronenmann of UCI (17-11) defeated Ricardo Herrera, ranked 97th, 7-5, 6-3. Eighty-fourth-ranked Tole Marincovic of SDSU (18-7), defeated Richard Lubner, ranked 25th, 6-1, 6-4.
