UC Irvine 6, San Jose State 5--Osmar DeChavez had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice to lead the Anteaters (30-24, 6-11) at home. Kevin Whitworth improved to 12-4, the most victories by a UCI starter since 1980. Al Rodriguez had three hits and Mike Gallego had two hits and one RBI for Irvine.

Christ College Irvine 8-7, Southern California College 7-6 (first game, 10 innings)--With Christ College Irvine (21-6, 7-13) trailing, 6-5, in the bottom of the seventh in the second game, Keith Laszlo hit a two-run triple to complete a sweep of Southern California College (27-21-1, 11-9).
