15-Year-Old Killed in Drive-By Shooting
A gunman fatally wounded a 15-year-old boy around noon Tuesday in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles, police said.
Detective Bernie Skiles of Newton Division’s anti-gang unit said Davontaie Ray Lewis was hit several times as he stood on the street in the 1400 block of East 52nd Street. The shots were fired from a dark-colored car carrying two men, Skiles said. The teen-ager was rushed to California Medical Center, where he died about 90 minutes later. Skiles said he did not know if the shooting was gang-related.
