After being deluged with calls from residents, police organized a fund to help the family of a 13-year-old boy who was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Police Lt. Marc Hedgepeth said last Sunday’s shooting of Eulises Carranza Pineda, a boy who helped with the family finances by collecting returnable bottles, has touched people throughout the county.
Hedgepeth said the department’s detective bureau also will donate money.
People who want to make a donation should send checks to the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce Pineda Fund in care of chamber president Alan Hughes, 100 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, Calif. 92805. Call Fran Morgan at (714) 758-0222 for more information.
