Alhambra

Movies and free lunch will be provided at Granada, Alhambra, and Almansor parks. Free arts and crafts will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday. A two-week Golden Bear Day Camp with daily field trips will be available to children ages 6 to 11. The cost is $80 for each two-week session. Other activities include swimming, sports and games. Arcadia

Azusa

Baldwin Park

Jazz, tap, ballet and Spanish are among the many classes the city will offer. Tennis and baton classes are also scheduled, along with T-ball for 5-, 6- and 7-year-olds. Claremont

Covina

The city will sponsor day care and day camp for students from grades first to sixth, and a special program from noon to 6 p.m. for students in summer school. Other programs for all ages will be held at Cedar Grove Elementary, Glen Oak Elementary and Grove Center Elementary schools. Activities will include excursions, swimming, special events, and classes in art, cheerleading, first aid and dance, including jazz, tap and ballet. For children 7 to 10, “Sugar and Spice” charm class will be offered.

Glendora

Six- and eight-week classes in piano, magic, charm and modeling and a theater workshop will be held at city parks and schools. A nature camp also is planned. Prices vary. Call (818) 914-8228.

Irwindale

A free day camp for 7- to 12-year-olds will be offered each Tuesday. Also, on Thursdays, there will be free beach trips for teen-agers. There is a fee for outings, such as fishing trips and Dodgers games. A July 4 celebration will be held at Irwindale Park, 5050 Irwindale Ave. The Irwindale Park pool will offer recreational swimming on Saturdays and Sundays. La Puente

Pasadena

The city will sponsor 45 different classes and five day camps throughout the summer, including 40 swimming classes for people from ages 4 to adult. For more information, call (818) 798-0865.

Beginning Tuesday, Kidspace Children’s Museum, 390 S. Molino Ave., will open Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. With a $3.25 admission price, children will be allowed to attend workshops in ocean adventure, crystal gardens, Indian sand painting and Korean fan-making. San Gabriel

Free recreational activities are planned at all school playgrounds in the city and Smith Park. The Smith Park pool will sponsor a dive team and other aquatic sports. San Marino

Sierra Madre

Beginning Monday, Earth school or nature camp is available for children 5 to 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $65 per week. Day camp, including field trips each Friday, is available for children 5 to 12. The cost is $75 per week for a full day and $55 for a half day. South El Monte

South Pasadena

Child care is offered at the South Pasadena-San Marino YMCA, 1605 Garfield Ave., for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. A summer aquatics program for all ages is scheduled. There is also a “little rascals” day-camp program for children from kindergarten through sixth grade and an adventure camp for third- through fifth-graders. Swimmers can use the South Pasadena High School pool, 1527 Diamond Ave., for $1. Thirty-minute swimming lessons are scheduled throughout the day. The cost is $16 with prior purchase of a $75 family season pass and $21 without a season pass. For serious swimmers ages 4 to 18, a club swim team is planned. Temple City

Free arts and crafts, drama and fitness classes are planned from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at school playgrounds citywide. Movies and cookouts also are scheduled. Tennis and swimming lessons will be available at Temple City High School. Two excursions are planned for July. Also, beach trips are scheduled each Friday. The cost is $2 per person. Walnut

West Covina

The city will sponsor a summer sports camp for ages 6 to 12, and a child-care program for ages 3 to 5. The programs include arts and crafts, swimming, movies, and excursions. Snacks are provided, but children should bring their own lunches. Day camp costs $45 per week, and child care is $50.

A swimming program at Edgewood Middle School, 1720 W. Merced Ave., will be available for all levels. There are only three two-week sessions still open in July and August. The cost is $13 for residents and $16 for non-residents. Recreational swimming will be available from 1 to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday for 50 cents per person, or $25 for a family swimming program. A free summer concert series will be held each Tuesday from July 10 until Aug. 7, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Civic Center courtyard, 1444 W. Garvey Ave. Also, on Sept. 22, the city’s third annual festival will be held at the civic center from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call (818) 814-8420.
