NO SWEAT? The sheriff’s DNA crime lab opened six weeks ago, but will the courts put it out of business? . . . Not likely, says its director, Frank Fitzpatrick, who shrugs off DNA’s biggest court test ever--monthlong pretrial hearings in a murder case beginning today in Ohio. . . . “It doesn’t have us worried at all,” he says. When DNA evidence has been excluded, it was for poor test methods or technician training, and “that’s why we wanted our own lab--for quality control.”
