Ohio State running back Carlos Snow, one day after pleading innocent to drunk driving charges, says he sustained a slight concussion in the accident that led to his arrest.

Snow, 22, Ohio State’s leading rusher the last two seasons, was driving a 1986 Volkswagen that ran off the road and struck a fuel pump and a wall at a service station at 3 a.m. Friday.

He also was charged with failure to control his vehicle.

His attorney, Frank Macke, filed a plea of innocent late Tuesday and requested a jury trial at Franklin County Municipal Court.

“Our belief is that he is not guilty and that is what we intend to defend,” Macke said.

Snow on Wednesday declined to speak about the case. But he said he suffered a slight concussion in the accident and spent the rest of the night at a hospital after he was charged.

A bone tumor was discovered on Snow’s left hip during a checkup at the Cleveland Clinic in January. The tumor was removed, but Snow will not be able to play football this fall while he recovers.
