66 Men Arrested in Prostitution Sting
Los Angeles police arrested 66 men during a two-day weekend anti-prostitution task force operation in Pacoima and Sylmar.
The operation began Friday afternoon on San Fernando Road and Kelowana Street in Pacoima, where 36 men were arrested after allegedly soliciting female undercover vice officers for sex acts in return for money, Lt. Jim Waters said.
On Saturday the operation moved to San Fernando Road and Bleeker Street in Sylmar, where 30 more men were arrested.
The men were arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitution and later released. The operation was an attempt to combat a recent increase in prostitution in those areas of Pacoima and Sylmar, Waters said.
