It’s a Love-Hate Relationship

I was amazed to read the critical letters regarding low scoring in World Cup soccer, while in the very same paper (June 30) two baseball no-hitters were described. I had to read to almost the end of the baseball articles to find a skimpy description of how the runs were scored.

Why so? How many runs did Sandy Koufax make in his career? Were baseball fans bored by his performances? Why is the rest of the world not bored by soccer and apparently not excited watching 27 outs made with no scoring?

Ignorance of a sport does not give one license to criticize it.
