The body of an unidentified man was found Sunday morning behind a wooded transient encampment near downtown, police said.
The man, who appeared to be in his 30s, was found about 11:15 a.m. slumped over a fallen branch at the encampment, between 10th Avenue and California 163, Police Sgt. Fred England said. Police had searched for the body for an hour after receiving an anonymous call.
Authorities were attempting to determine the cause of death.
