Marshall Placed on Disabled List
Mike Marshall of the New York Mets spent Saturday night at a Cincinnati hospital and underwent tests for a condition diagnosed as inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
Marshall, 30, who has played in 53 games for the Mets this season, is being placed on the disabled list for 15 days, Met Manager Bud Harrelson said.
He was released Sunday from the hospital, Harrelson said. Marshall was hospitalized Saturday, one day after he and Harrelson had a loud clubhouse argument.
Marshall has been unhappy in a part-time role since being acquired from the Dodgers in the off-season and said he wants to be traded.
