In her July 15 letter, Joy Rackemann criticized the letter writer who pointed out that there are no African-Americans in movies that certain directors make. Said Rackemann: “Don’t take it so seriously. It’s only movies.”
What is or is not to be taken seriously depends upon whose ox is being gored. Would Rackemann have told Rosa Parks, “It’s only a bus ride”?
