THE SIDELINES : Star Alabama Back Arrested
University of Alabama star running back Siran Stacy and teammate Robert Jones were arrested early today on disorderly conduct charges in an alleged disturbance at a nightclub, police said.
Tuscaloosa police said the two, arrested at 12:20 a.m., were released at 2 a.m. under $300 bond.
Police Capt. David Hartin said that Stacy, 21, and Jones, 20, were accused of trying to enter the Citizens Club without paying and that their “conduct became disorderly.” The two allegedly became loud with the club’s security guard and manager and words were exchanged in the parking lot prior to their arrest.
“To my knowledge, there were no blows passed. It was all verbal,” Hartin said.
He said the two will be given a date for the misdemeanor case to be heard in city court.
Stacy, who will be a senior this fall, led the Southeastern Conference with 18 touchdowns last season.
