Tax Protest
I was amazed to see no coverage of the group of people who got together to exercise their constitutional right to protest higher taxes and excessive government spending here in San Diego (Aug. 2 near the County Administration Building). Did you not cover the fact that President Bush called for new taxes after repeatedly denouncing new taxes as an election pledge?
This event affects everyone in the nation, and it is important for events such as this to have grass-roots support and coverage, so people can speak to government in a unified voice. Need I tell you that we are overtaxed and do not need more government spending?
We as individuals have written our representatives without any response. Taxes have been raised for the last 50 years without any success in cutting deficits or spending.
There is no excuse for not covering this event when you have given coverage to 20 janitors striking at the airport, and 200 people having a race demonstration in Ocean Beach.
