Trolley security guards arrested a San Diego man accused of stabbing another man during an altercation at a trolley station about midnight Thursday, a police spokesman said.

The guards arrested Robert Santacruz, 20, on suspicion of stabbing 24-year-old Niguel Ouando in the arm and chest in a fight at a station, in the 700 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard, said police spokesman Bill Robinson.

Ouando was reportedly in stable condition Friday afternoon at UC San Diego Medical Center, Robinson said.

The men apparently got into an argument after Ouando tried to initiate a conversation with a woman who was a friend of Santacruz’s, Robinson said.
