Kevy J. McInnis, 19, a player for Samford University’s basketball team, died when the car he was driving ran off a road and flipped six times, authorities in Pascagoula, Miss., said.
McInnis, of Lucedale, Miss., was pronounced dead at the scene Friday, according to Joe Gazzo, a spokesman for the highway patrol. McInnis, who would have been a junior this season, was Samford’s second-leading scorer last season and was considered the top returning player.
