COSTA MESA — Four people were hurt early Saturday, one seriously, when a Santa Ana man suspected of driving while intoxicated swerved off the side of the San Diego Freeway and hit a truck that was stalled on the shoulder, police said.
The driver, 21-year-old Salvador Morin, sustained major injuries and was listed in serious condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Three people in the parked pickup truck that Morin struck about 1:50 a.m., just south of the Fairview Road exit on the northbound freeway, were taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center with minor injuries and released, according to police and hospital officials.
They were Lyndy Sue Lynd, 27, Donna Alexander, 28, both of Newport Beach, and Ron Lamerton, 34, of Costa Mesa.
