From Times staff and Wire reports

Earth First! activists say they will be back in Kings Canyon National Park next week protesting the arraignment of members charged with vandalism during their summer demonstration there. Two of the group’s members were charged with violating the terms of a special-use permit after vandalism occurred at the July 30 Redwood Summer demonstration near Quaking Aspen. Mark Huntington of San Francisco and Brian Eckert of Springville are scheduled to appear Tuesday before a U.S. magistrate at the national park headquarters at Ash Mountain. The men promised no acts of vandalism in signing the permit and posting a $250 bond for the July demonstration, U.S. Forest Service special agent Dewayne Whitten said.
