Four Injured Titans Questionable

Just when Cal State Fullerton football Coach Gene Murphy figured his injury situation couldn’t get worse, it did.

The Titans, who lost two of their top players--running back Deon Thomas (torn knee ligaments) and safety Terry Tramble (broken arm)--for the season, are hurting even more this week.

Three starters, offensive guard Tim Drevno (neck), offensive tackle John Cotti (lower back pain) and cornerback Nuygen Pendleton (ankle) and one key reserve, offensive tackle Damien Macaluso (shoulder), haven’t practiced this week and are questionable for Saturday’s game at Mississippi State.

In addition, quarterback Paul Schulte, who injured his collarbone Saturday against Auburn, threw on Wednesday for the first time in four days, and receiver Richard Harrison is recovering from a pulled thigh muscle. Murphy said both will play Saturday.

“Everybody is beat up, but you expect that when you play a team like Auburn,” Murphy said. “And Mississippi State is another physical team.”
