PLOT THICKENS: Orange County surrogate mother Anna Johnson, who recently pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and agreed to repay more than $4,400, is getting some financial help from the Phil Donahue show. On Wednesday, Donahue told viewers that his show paid Johnson’s welfare debt as a condition for her to discuss her battle to keep the child she is bearing for an infertile couple. Her lawyer, Diane Marlowe, quickly added that Johnson “didn’t know anything” about the arrangement, and that it was something her lawyers did.
