COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT : WEEKDAY UPDATE : UCLA : Kevin Williams to Start at Tailback
Tailback Kevin Williams, who played only one down against Oklahoma last Saturday because of an ankle injury, will start Saturday against Stanford at the Rose Bowl.
Coach Terry Donahue was dissatisfied with the running game in the 34-14 loss to the Sooners. UCLA had only 28 net yards rushing.
Tailback Brian Brown became UCLA’s career leader in kickoff-return yardage with four returns for 114 yards against Oklahoma Saturday. Brown’s total included 59 yards on the opening kickoff.
He has accumulated 1,074 yards in his career, breaking the record of 963 yards set by JoJo Townsell in 1979-82.
