Two men from Orange County were wounded by gunfire early Sunday while standing outside a National City restaurant in San Diego County. A third man was also shot.

They were near the front door of the Thai Bar B Q restaurant in the 3400 block of East Plaza Boulevard when they were hit, Police Sgt. Carey Sullivan said.

Two cars pulled into the restaurant parking lot and at least three occupants emerged and started shooting, Sullivan said.

“These people got hit and (we’re) not sure if (the shots) were directed toward them or not.”

A white Toyota MR-2 and a white Toyota Celica were seen leaving the parking lot, where police found bullet casings, Officer Michael Harlan said.

Souphy Phongsavath, 20, of Fullerton was taken to UCSD Medical Center, suffering from a bullet wound in the back.

A hospital spokeswoman said she could not release any information about Phongsavath.

The others, 22-year-old Kongkham Daravong of Anaheim, who suffered a minor facial wound, and 30-year-old Soukanyastue Hansana of La Puente, who suffered minor wounds in his legs, were treated and released from Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista.

Police said they have no suspects and no motive.
