L.B. Boxing Show Drops Flyweight Title Matchup
A scheduled title fight tonight in Long Beach between Esias Zumudio of Blythe, the North American Boxing Federation flyweight champion, and Marcos (Bang Bang) Pacheco of Sonora, Mexico, has been canceled because Pacheco has withdrawn, promoter Steve Brooks said Wednesday.
Brooks said there will be two eight-round matches, two six-round matches and a four-round bout in the Boxing by the Beach show at the Hyatt Regency hotel.
Included on the card will be a fight between undefeated flyweight El Torito Espino of Los Angeles and Regilio Martinez. In other matches, junior lightweight Jose Castro of Costa Mesa will go against Paul Padilla of Fresno, and featherweight Juan Torres of Fresno will take on Rudy Zavala of Los Angeles.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Brooks said it will include a jazz band and a ring girl contest.
