FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Carter, Kennedy Move in Right Direction, 36-0

Share

Defensive back Bobby Rodgers picked up a fumble and carried it into the end zone, just like he did last week. The difference was, it was the right end zone.

Everything went the right way for the Kennedy High on Saturday night as the Golden Cougars defeated Franklin, 36-0, at Kennedy. Ontiwaun Carter rushed for 102 yards in 16 carries and scored on runs of one, 14, and five yards. Carter also caught three passes for 30 yards.

Kennedy’s defense was overwhelming, limiting Franklin to 86 yards in total offense and forcing five second-half fumbles. They scored twice on Franklin miscues, including Rodgers’ 19-yard return. Last week, Rodgers intercepted a pass and ran 82 yards into the wrong end zone.
