MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Whites Creek High School center David Vaughn has announced he will play college basketball for his uncle, Memphis State Coach Larry Finch.
The 6-foot-9 Vaughn, considered one of the nation’s top 10 recruits, chose Finch and the Tigers over Syracuse, DePaul, Arizona State, UCLA, Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky. He is entering his senior year of high school.
The All-State performer averaged 20 points, 12.4 rebounds and five blocked shots his junior year, leading the Cobras (34-1) to the semifinal round of the Class AAA state basketball tournament.
