Five people suffered minor injuries when four men walked up to them in front of a Panorama City apartment complex and began shooting after yelling gang slogans, Los Angeles police said Thursday.

The victims of the shooting, which occurred about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 7900 block of Willis Avenue, suffered wounds to the arms or legs. They were identified as Ruben Araiza, 26; Denise Roacho, 24; Jesus Aguilar, 25; Vincente Masa, 33, and Jose Sanchez, 36.

Police said the shooting was gang-related but that it was unknown whether the victims were associated with any gang. Lt. Warren Knowles said they were sitting on steps at the entrance to their apartment complex when four young men approached on foot.
